A hot topic on the news these days is President Obama's attempt to gather enough support for military action in Syria. We're all familiar with the reasons...after over 100,000 casualties in the Syrian civil war, millions of people have sought refuge in neighboring countries, mostly Lebanon and Jordan; but what moved the US into action was Syrian President Assad's apparent use of chemical weapons. By using such weapons, Assad crossed a clear red line drawn by the American administration. But one of the problems seems to be: What would happen if we do intervene? And what would happen if we don't? How does it (or doesn't it) affect American interests in the region?. All good questions.
