BLOGGING JEWISH IN DUTCHESS
Hurricane Sandy was a humbling experience. While locally we were not as affected as we expected, and we were generally spared – many others in New York City, New Jersey, Western New York, Pennsylvania and Maryland were not. The Hurricane is already being called the worst natural disaster to hit the Northeast in recorded history. People lost their homes, in some cases needed to be evacuated by boat. Stories are surfacing about people seeking refuge in their roofs, but also of cases of people who went above and beyond to lend a hand to those affected.
