Special Request

Ian Enkin is a 33 years old Jew, who has Blood Type A+, and is desperately in need of a kidney transplant from a live donor.

Ian had his first kidney transplant on January 23, 2007, but only two weeks later - on February 5, 2007 - the kidney had to be removed because it was found to be cancerous.

He has only one kidney working at 5 percent capacity.  He is on dialysis 3 times a week for 4 hours a day - after working an 8-hour day.

His antibodies are elevated because of the last transplant and blood transfusions which he received to help him stay alive.

There is no one in his family who can be a donor.

If you can help Ian, call the Transplant Unit at the Royal Victoria Hospital and say that you would like to donate a kidney for Ian Enkin.  The phone number is 514 934-1934 local 35222.  The Transplant Coordinator will call back right away to begin the testing procedure.

For more information contact Sarah Licha, Director of Human Resources at FEDERATION CJA at 514 345-2645 ext. 3235.
