How many times we take actions and we get more than we bargained for? The law of unintended consequences is one of the nastiest things around. We see these unintended outcomes all the time in almost every area of life and certainly in every corner of the world. Take for example the push to make mortgages more affordable to encourage Home ownership...it worked for a while, but many are still paying the price for what came after the scheme collapsed. Iraq is no longer under Saddam Hussein's oppressive rule...but it certainly isn't a free country either, with the growing Iranian influence in Iraqi politics.
