BLOGGING JEWISH IN DUTCHESS
As an Argentinean Jew, July 18 will always be for me a poignant reminder of the violence and the death which can be visited upon innocent people. Eighteen years ago, on July 18, I was sitting at my desk at the Jewish Federation of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, where I was the Community Relations director, when I received a phone call from Jacobo Kovadloff, a fellow Argentinean Jew working at the time in New York for the American Jewish Committee. He told me that the AMIA building, the Jewish community headquarters in Buenos Aires, had been bombed.
