BLOGGING JEWISH IN DUTCHESS   


Last week a “Flytilla” tried to break Israel's law and to overwhelm the ability of Ben Gurion Airport to handle the situation. Thousands of anti-Israel activists were supposed to land at Israel's main Airport in a program called “Welcome to Palestine” denying Israel's right to ensure the rule of law at its borders. The results? About 70 arrivals were arrested and most of them deported to their countries of origin, while others were allowed to go through since they were not coming with the intention of agitating. Many of these activists were members of the International Solidarity Movement which denies Israel's right to exist and promotes the use of “Divestment, Boycott and Sanctions to end the Israeli apartheid regime”. They are also the organizers of the annual “Israeli apartheid week”.
