PJ Library, which for 20 years has sent children's books with Jewish content to families throughout America, is one of the Jewish world's preeminent programs. What did it take to adapt this program to Israel and what can we learn about the cultural similarities and differences between Jews in Israel and America? How was the Jewish program successfully adapted to also serve Arab Israelis and promote literacy? Join us for a fascinating conversation with Galina Vromen, who spent her teens in Poughkeepsie and became the Founding Director of Sifriyat Pijama (PJ Library in Hebrew) and Maktabat al-Fanoos (Lantern Library in Arabic).
