Early 20th-century Europe was marked by nationalism, imperial rivalry, industrialization, and devastating wars. These conditions weakened European dominance while helping create opportunities for the rapid expansion of Hollywood. Hollywood then emerged not only as an entertainment center but also as a powerful cultural and political force that shaped global perceptions, values, and modern media culture throughout the 20th century.
