About Us

The Jewish Federation of Dutchess County is your key to the Jewish community. We serve the Jewish population of the greater Dutchess County area regardless of affiliation. Our annual community campaign supports local agencies and programming including PJ Library, Hebrew education through scholarships, senior programs, cultural events, Medical Lending, and The Voice, the monthly Jewish newspaper, and Jewish in Dutchess, a weekly email of information about local Jewish activities.

In addition, Federation participates in national efforts on behalf of Israel and Jewish communities around the world by contributing funds to the Jewish Agency for Israel and the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) as well as individual projects of importance.

The Jewish Federation is your way to be part of something greater than yourself and improve the lives of many people around the globe.

What We Do

PROGRAMMING

Among the programs the Federation organizes throughout the year to bring the community together are Mitzvah Day, Israel Independence Day celebrations, Yom HaShoah, and the Jewish Film Festival.

PARTNERSHIPS

In addition, in partnership with other local Jewish organizations we co-sponsor speakers, performances and educational programming.

COMMUNITY BUILDING

Through regular community roundtables, the Federation brings together Jewish professionals on a monthly basis and the community's Jewish lay leadership quarterly. These gatherings are opportunities to come together as a community to share resources and best practices and tackle the issues of mutual concern to all Jews in Dutchess County.

Get Updates

We connect the community by publishing the community newspaper The Voice and by sending the weekly e-mail of local happenings, Jewish in Dutchess. If you are not receiving these publications and would like to, email us your name, address, phone number and email address, and we'll put your name on the list - it's that simple!

Our History

As a local Federation, we are also part of the Jewish Federations of North America (formerly United Jewish Communities and UJA) and heirs to the proud history of the Federation Movement. Learn more.
