Jewish Federation of Dutchess County releases Agencies Review Report

April 1st, 2010

The Agencies Review Committee consisting of Ziva Dahl, Burt Gold, Linda Perfecto and Alan Zucker and staffed by Executive Director Daniel Chejfec, was entrusted by the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Dutchess County to analyze the programs and activities of the different agencies receiving funds from the Federation’s Community Campaign  in order  to determine whether these agencies are functioning in concert with the goals and mission of the Federation.

This effort was undertaken because the Federation is accountable to our donors to ensure that the money allocated from the Community Campaign is utilized for funding of activities consistent with the stated purpose of the Campaign. The committee reviewed the activities of the Jewish Community Center and the Community Hebrew School, considering that review of the activities of Jewish Family Services was the responsibility of the Board since it is a department of the Federation.

Each of the agencies received a questionnaire in order to gather the basic information about its mission and activities. A follow up face-to-face meeting was scheduled with each agency to discuss and/or expand on the answers.

A report was presented to and approved by the Board of Directors at its November 2009 meeting. The details of the report were discussed with the agencies receiving funding from the Community Campaign.

The Board determined that it was important to share with the community the contents of the report by publishing it. Please read the Agencies answers to the questionnaire  first.
