Community Blood Drive on

Where:  Jewish Community Center, 110 S. Grand Ave., Poughkeepsie

 

When:  8:30 am – 2:00 pm

Please bring identification with you if you plan to donate.  (Identification must have your photo or a signature).  Also, you must know your social security number.  (You don’t need your social security card). 

 

Who may donate:  You must be at least 16 years old, weight at least 110 pounds, and not have donated blood within the last 56 days.  People age 76 and older can donate blood if they meet all criteria and present a physician’s letter.

 

What happens when you arrive at the Center:

You will be asked to provide some basic information.  A quick medical history is taken, and a drop of blood is analyzed for hemoglobin content.  Your pulse, blood pressure, and temperature will also be taken.

 

Please remember to eat at your regular mealtimes and drink plenty of fluids before coming to donate blood.
